Strange

I have notice something thats very strange to me.

 

I use on hud option for display text ( llSetText )

It use data from llKey2Name(avatarsUUID) , and its work fine when I am on mine land. If I change region I have no response in llSetText with avatars name. I return again home, and there is working fine.

Is that mybe  SL bug or I dont know something

this is list of managers where i select them and hover text show active manager to manage (lol) . 

So i notice now that setText with key2name( UUId)  is not working if this avatar is not in same region . Its strange  becose command is command. SetText use UUID that have no influence of position.  But how i see, in mine case have.

 

I have then TP manager to me, and again, everything was ok... In this region lol

 

Code is simple: Data from predefined list give me UUID. Key2Name give me Name, and set text display this name. Basic scripting with basic code.

llKey2Name().  From the wiki: "avatar or prim UUID that is in the same region"

If you're not in the same region you just get an empty string.

Yes, same is with llGetDisplayName

if its is a hud llKey2Name() should always work as it is always in the same region as the agent wearing it.

Perhaps the land you went to had the parcel settings set to no scripts?

you'll need to find a way to use llRequestAgentData instead
