Suki Hirano
Does anyone know how I can display a youtube video on a prim? I want to create a flat panel that plays a youtube video when anyone clicks the prim. I'm not looking for a youtube search engine, it's simply one (or if a menu is possible 3-4) video.I checked Torley's video on how to link youtube videos but it was from like 3 years ago and I can't find that site he used to fetch mp4 URLs anymore. I'm using Phoenix viewer by the way.Thanks.

Thinkerer Melville
You can show YouTube videos (or any other video that you can see in your browser) Here is information about that: Preferences: Media. Sound. Prim browsers. Video http://virtualoutworlding.blogspot.com/2011/06/kit-preferences-media-sound-prim.html Control the multimedia in Viewer 2.7 http://virtualoutworlding.blogspot.com/2011/06/kit-control-multimedia-in-viewer-27.html Promote your Second Life events inworld http://virtualoutworlding.blogspot.com/2011/03/kit-promote-your-second-life-events.html TKR
Suki Hirano
Thanks but those options are for LL's viewer 2. I'm using Phoenix and there doesn't seem to be lots of the options like "select face" and "apply media".
Thinkerer Melville
Browser on prim is not available in Phoenix.. You could not see the video even if you had a prepared prim. If you want to show Youtube, I think your best bet is to go to viewer 2 (3 now) or Firestorm While there have been scripts that showed YouTube on prims, they have not been satisfactory in the long run. You don't need to fool with the details of making a prim browser -- Just go to the Hobo Helpers HQ on Cookie: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Cookie/136/100/22 Hobo Helpers HQ on Cookie --Hobo Kits Pick up a Hobo kit and look for a BOP object already scripted. Sundbuns Camel
There has always been the option to replace a specified texture with a video URL. This works in VWR 1 (and Phoenix).
