How do you get your premium account land for free?

I had a premium account 3 years ago but couldnt figure out where I got this free 512M or how to get it. If someone can tell me please I might go back to premium. Thanks

You can either buy a parcel on mainland (anything above 512 sqm. moves you to the next tier level) which you can later resell, or you can get a Linden Home.

There has never actually been a "free" 512 plot, there has only been free tier ON a 512 plot .  A few years ago there were special sims with 512 lots that were available to purchase from Linden Labs at 1L per meter -- so $512 L for a 512 lot (117 prims). That disappeared maybe 3.5 years ago? Not sure of the exact timing.  NOW you can still purchase up to a 512 lot on the MAINLAND if you are premium and get free tier. So the only cost you have besides your premium membership (almost free if you pay by the year) is the original cost of the land.

 

512 lots vary in price TREMENDOUSLY so shopping carefully is a good idea. You can get lots for as little as $1 per meter from Linden Labs on it reclaimed land. You can get it even cheaper from sellers who are returning to basic account status or leaving.  

 

You can also opt for the completely free Linden Home  http://secondlife.com/land/lindenhomes/member.php   and choose from several styles. The up side of this is that you have no purchase cost and you get 117 prims BESIDES the ones in your house. The downside is that you can't be very creative there and the areas are all very much the same like a giant housing tract. You can't have any stores there or skyboxes either. So be sure and read the rules.

 

So do some exploring and figure out what would be best for you.
