Just to balance things: My 2-year-old 15" Macbook Pro runs SL just fine at 50-70 frames per second. It's fully capable as a gaming machine, and the new ones are even faster.

Agreed Paladin! I'm on Macbook too & it runs SL awesome even on Ultra with shadows & stuff, no problem.

Are you on macbook pro's?

I'm on a regular 3 year old macbook and although it runs SL a lot better then others it can barely manage shadows and implodes when I try the maximum settings.

I'm considering moving on to a macbook pro but will have to sell a kidney first.
