How do I get rid of the "resident" tag?

How do I get rid of the whole "name Resident" thing? For example "Danni resídent"

I dont want to have the resident tag!!!

Unless Linden changes the name system back to Firstname/Surnamem you wont.

 

Your Firstname is for Login, "Resident" gets only used for the Systems that still require a second name(e.g. about EVERY System, from Viewers, to Greeters, to MM Boards to ... everything that calls you by name.

 

Only thing you can do is settling a displayname... and vote for the JIRA to bring back names.

Sorry. "Resident" isn't a tag, it is your official last name. All new avatars (even those for older players making alts) are stuck with Resident as their last name. This was a brainchild of Linden Labs some time ago. The original plan was to simplify the registration policy and let folks pick their last names "later". That second part of the plan seems to have been abandoned. So unless they make some changes you get to live with your name as it is now.

 

You can change your display name, but honestly most of the older players (typists) I know  have that featured turned off.  Not the best of plans and many folks voiced their opinions to that before the Resident thing was a done deal. But, alas, it did no good.

You can't. All you can do is to choose a display name, which apparently you already did, Sinzalia.

All the recent users of Second Life have "Resident" as lat name.

What viewer are you using?

I have looked on the official LL viewer, on Phoenix & on Firestorm & I do not see "Resident" appearing on tags. All it shows is the single username & a display name if there is one set.
