Curious Zsun
I play Second Life on a Mac Book Pro. It works great except for the stupid issues with profiles in lion. One thing I'd like to find is a better way to keep my laptop cool while playing. Right now after about 10 minutes of playing the internal fans are running full blast and they are kind of loud. Any recommendation on external cooling? I've done a bit of looking but was wondering what others would recommend.
Tristan Greymoon
This is a viewer section, not a cooling section but something like this should do. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834998051
Six Igaly
Download FanControl here: http://www.eidac.de/?p=207 And if you want to get rid of the profile issues then download betaviewer 3.0.0.238157. Worked for me :smileyhappy:
Curious Zsun
yeah but they don't have a hardware section, just tech/SL viewer form.

Lee Ponzu
Reduce your Graphics settings to low... I keep a couple of ice packs in the freezer. When I want the fan to be quiet, I put the laptop on an ice pack. Frozen peas or corn work, too, so long as you don't eat them later.
Keli Kyrie
I think you will be totally amazed at how well external cooling fans really work and you can get them super cheap too. http://www.google.com/search?q=laptop+cooling+fans&hl=en&client=safari&rls=en&prmd=ivns&source=univ&tbm=shop&tbo=u&sa=X&ei=WPhLTriyA6zSiAKb5ch4&ved=0CH0QrQQ
Persephone Emerald
Belkin makes a nice little cooler for around $30. The last one I bought is grey & has screws in back so you can take it apart & clean out any pet fur or dust that collects inside. I've gone though several coolers & this one is the best so far.
