Can't get viewer to load

Hi everyone,

I'm returning to SL after a LENGTHY sabbatical, or at least I'm trying to return but can't seem to get the viewer to load. Viewer one and two both stop almost immediately after a window opens saying "checking hardware". I've pored through the forum and other sites for solutions but haven't had any success from clearing cache, uninstalling/re-installing or using 3rd party viewers. My specs are in excess of the recommended so I don;t think that's the problem (windows 7, 2.4ghz, 4 gig RAM).

Can someone help or is my return to SL over before it starts?

I have a similar problem. My computer is a HP G42-265LA and when i try to start SL it says "Graphics Initialization failed, upload graphic drivers". I've uploaded it without success... I also tried the Beta version but remains the same problem.
I don't know what to do to play Second Life in my notebook...

If someone has some idea to help me I would thank it,
