This is a resident supported forum so no one can do anything about your lost money.  This is also a public forum so posting your email address is not really a good idea.

Cinn is absolutely right.  If you post your email address on a public forum, you can risk getting a lot of spam and, worse, you can make yourself vulnerable to stalking and some forms of identity theft.  Please remove your address as quickly as you can.

Not sure how that's a bad thing, spammers will figure out your email address whether or not it's posted. "Spamblocking" by changing some characters around are easily defeated by spammer's scripts, thus only trip up humans trying to respond.

It's not just about spamming, although there's no point making things easier for spammers than you have to. There's spoofing to worry about, and the more distant but possible worry of cyberstalking. Yeah, I know some people get way too paranoid about these things, but really.... why not avoid them if you can?

It's easy to filter out idiots and pipe spam through spamassassin or bogofilter. No reason to live in fear when there's a technological means to deal with the problem.

I agree for myself. We're talking about the average low-tech SL resident. And what could be lower tech than simply remembering not to post private information in public places? Mr. Myagi told us, "Best defense against attack, not be there."

Your average SL resident isn't low tech. I really pity the folks who are low tech at this point, they're dooming themselves to a life of pumping gas or waiting tables for a living.

<sigh> I think a lovely big lock on the front door is a great idea. I'm advising the OP to get in the habit of shutting the door first.
