hm, third time i've stumbled across this the last two days. here are two other threads with the same issue:

http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Inventory/how-can-a-normal-folder-turns-into-system-folder/qaq-p/1030481
http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Inventory/Why-am-i-getting-system-folders-when-some-one-passes-me-a-folder/qaq-p/1029643

one reports a reboot (if they meant an actual reboot, or if it was just a relog idk) fixed it, another one has not added more info. and you mention a cache clearing.

i haven't had this issue. i have no clue why it is happening, but it's kinda interesting.

glad to hear it's sorted for you, tho. if you feel the issue has been resolved could you mark the question as answered? =)
