What does Linden Labs do with your birthday information?

When you first sign on and age verify Linden Labs used to not keep your birthday info.  What does it do now with it?  I would prefer an answer from a Linden Labs employee.  Thanks.

This is the wrong place for answers from a "Linden Lab employee". We are just residents like you here. I doubt you will find and answer. Primarily it SEEMS to be to keep track of your age for verification status (entrance into adult sims).

You are mistaken. Your date of birth has always been a question on the SL registration form and has always been kept by LL because they used it as a security question when they needed to confirm that you are the account holder. They used to also ask for your real name on registration but they do not do that anymore.

You mentioned age verification & that used to be done by Aristotle. They used to just check the information against public records and confirm whether or not a person exists in RL with the given name, address and date of birth, so you are correct that Aristotle did not keep the information.

Age verification has now changed & the new method is that you are shown the date of birth that was given on your SL registration & asked to confirm that it is correct.
