I just updated my viewer to newest SL Viewer 2 and I'm having problems with IMing and Teleports.

The new version is full of bugs.  Go back to the old version or try one of the third party viewers like Phoenix or Firestorm

Recent versions of the V2 viewer have had several bugs, so that may be your problem.  I have to ask, though  ..... Did you log in with Basic mode by any chance?  Each of the "problems" that you listed could just be a feature that is normally disabled unless you use Advanced mode when you log in.
