Kandee Koray
Wasnt exactly sure where to put this, but i figured general Discussion would work.ANYWAYIve noticed seince meeroos came out, every other breedable, has been beaten to a bloody pulp. (not litteraly of course)and i have meeroos and i love them, they are the first (and only) breedable ive had, but i have people close to me who have horses, and fairies, and they get rare (so im told) traits and such, and they cannot for the life of them sell them, i mean seriously theyve tried everything, tried auctions, ad groups, bid-boards, marketplace, inworld stores, ads in classifieds, forums, killing a goat and sacrificing it to satan, they cant sell them, its become impossible. So i ask, does everyone else think meeroos have taken over breedables? and that theres really no hope for others? im not sure, i think theres still at least SOME people who are still intrested in others, but we cant find them. Marigold Devin
No, I don't believe meeroos have taken over the breedables market, but horses etc are becoming harder to sell simply because the grid is flooded with so many of them already. Paul Hexem
Every time a new pyramid scheme is invented (i.e. new animal scripted), the old one becomes yesterday's news, and all the suckers go running after the new fad.
Pussycat Catnap
Common breeds of Meeroos have also hit this point. Uncommons are droppin in price fast, rares are not yet down, and the ultra-rare ones are still doing good. But were it not for Malevoy, the company behind them, banning a bunch of bad players and deleting a -LOT- of hacked roos recently, you'd be seeing a complete crash right on the rise. That deletion of hacked roos though has helped stabalize things. For now.

Syo Emerald
I just wish there would be Merroos which aren't breedables. I'm not allowed to have breedables on the place I live

I'm not allowed to have breedables on the place I live There are. Its called a mee-pet. A mee-pet convertor is 999L, it works on any meeroo you own and converts it from breedable to non. You can get a common breed of Meeroo for as little as 50L if you know where to look (I've got 1 extra myself from a click mistake - bought the one right of the one I wanted). That said I've begun keeping Meeroos despite my often public stance against breedables - and I'm finding them very low lag. It is still a pyramid scheme, so I recommend avoiding them if you want to get in to make money - but if you want some fun pets they're nice. And I'm keeping my 11 of them (soon to be 10, went up to 11 when I got a replacement for one I'm going to mee-pet convert soon) on a sim that also has 100+ horses in my neighbor's lot. - The horses, when I first saw them, caused me to panic. But a fellow neighbor panicked faster than I did and sold me her 7000m of land for 3000L... and when she left, the sim's lag went away. She left complaining of lag, blaming it on the horses, rather than looking to her own script use I suppose. So after that I looked into the status of the Roos, and I have to somewhat 'eat my hat' because if you look back as little as 2 months in this forum there's a thread with me attacking Roo owners... My blog now has 3 Roo posts: http://catnapkitty.wordpress.com/category/second-life/meeroo/ And the oldest one explains how I got into them. I'll be doing up a 4th soon when my Green Roo gets converted to a mee-pet, unless some bit of news has me writing sooner.

Yeah I remember that thread. It's OK no one ever believes what I say. Not sure why. I don't lie and I'm not crazy. /shrugs The Meepet option is over priced, so is the food. We hear they must pay for their servers, but I have a very hard time believing that they're in the red. Very hard. The house always wins. As you said, only get in it for fun. Not to make money. Think of it as a casino. Once your quarters are gone, it's time to go home. My quarters are almost gone.
Pussycat Catnap
The Meepet option though is a 1-time fee. 999L for a one time fee sounds like a lot, until you start pricing out some of the assorted scripted pets out there - many of which can be a lot more laggy. You can reasonable end up with a permanent Meeroo pet for a one time ever fee of 1049L. A good scripted 'cat' that I'd considered 2 years ago is similar at 799L. A similar range of prices, about $1US difference. - But one is a physical sculpted scripted cat, the other phantom sculpted non-physical fantasy critter (the fact that Roos are phantom and non-physical both combine to solve a lot of what could have been their 'perceptive-lag' issues). As for my comments about Roos in past - I don't think I was unreasonable there given the history of breedables - though I understand that my comments might not have been kind. Breedables have a well deserved nasty reputation among many in SL - so I don't expect anyone to believe me either when I say I'm finding these new ones to not be a problem. It sounds like someone coming up to you claiming they can fly. Just because they actually can, doesn't mean a sane person wouldn't think them crazy for claiming it. EmmaofTinbrook
I think that plenty of people are interested in breedables which produces an over supply by the breeders. This is the result of everyone being able to breed the little darlings.
LlazarusLlong
I've heard a rumour that Ebbe is working on a devious marketing plan to persuade everyone to migrate to SL V2, when if the time comes, by anonymously unleashing a plague of tribbles inworld.
