it is unfortunately as griffin said; i just want to add that if the item in question was copiable then there should be a chance the merchant can send you another copy. unless it was a one of a kind but even if it was transferable i would have tried explaining what happened to the merchant. worst case scenario you get a "no". for 40 000 it's worth asking imo.

ps.: just a thought - did you purge your trash? if not then it's still in there.

I have HEARD (and this may be an SL Urban Legend *wink*) that if you contact support (live chat being best) and know the EXACT NAME of the item, LL can get it back for you from a backup. Time is of the essence and since it "was" your error rather than a database snafu, I am not sure how willing they will be. They did get a few things back for my friend a couple of years ago when THEY made the mistake. Only a few but proves that it is possible .

It's worth asking at least.
