Land for Auction Puzzle

Can someone explain this:

Land near mine is Linden owned/Maintenance.  Yesterday it was not for-sale, not purple on the map.

Today it's showing purple on the map as two parcels each with an auction ID#.

I go to the Linen Land Auctions page and neither parcel is listed.   Twenty Five other parcels auctioning for L$, None for US$.

Is there a delay before parcels appear in the auction?

I don't understand.

Yes, there is a delay.  It's wildly variable, too, anywhere from a couple days to several weeks.

Yes, about the delay.  Also, if it borders your land, and you submit a help ticket asking to buy it, they may sell it to you directly for L$1 per square meter.

In the past, I've bought a number of parcels by submitting tickets, because I owned the land on 3 sides of it (2 sides when it was on the edge of the sim), but I failed to get one that had been put in the auction queue (purple). I was told that it was too late. I didn't own the normal number of sides though but I was told that, once it was in the auction queue, it was too late.

LL land sales have changed in recent times, so it may be different now.
