"UPDATE" windows is crashing when i long into second life, i get the blue screen

THERES A VERY SMART HACKER OUT THERE, WHO HAS COMPROMISED  MY SECONDLIFE, MSN, YAHOO EXPERIENCE. WRECKING SOME VERY NASTY AND DISTRUCTIVE ACTIONS TO MY COMPUTER. i HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THIS PROBELEM SINCE JULY 28TH, AND HAVE SINCE FOUND THAT THE EVENT LOG I POSTED HERE IS A FRAUD. I WAS ABLE BRIEFLY TO  VIEW (NOT COPY) THE REAL EVENT LOG. i SAW EXACTLY WHAT THE HACKER HAS BEEN UP TO. I WASN'T ABLE TO GET THE VIRUS NAME OR ORIGIN OF THE IP ADDRESS THE HACKER SHUT ME DOWN AS SOON AS I GOT TO THAT POINT.  HE OR SHE DELETED MY BOOT MANAGER ON WINDOWS , AND DELETED WINDOWS 7 FROM MY PC, THIS HACKER IS SOPHISTICATED, HAVING CHANGED THE CONFIGURATION IN THE HARDWARE CONTROLLERS AND ABOUT 30 MORE NASTY ACTIONS THAT HAS CAUSED ME TO HAVE TO GET A NEW HARDDRIVE. ALL ACTIONS MIMICED A REAL WINDOWS LOG IN, A REAL MICROSOFT SUPPORT PAGE, A REAL MOZILLA FIREFOX SITE, AS WELL AS INTERNET EXPLORER..... THANK GOODNESS THERES GOOGLE CHROME OTHERWISE I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO CHANGE ALL MY PASSWORDS ON EVERY ACCOUNT I HAVE TODAY. THIS HACKER IS SMART THEY EVEN CHANGED THE IP ADDRESS ON MY PC AND TRIED TO DO SO ON MY DAUGHTERS...BUT BY THAT TIME I WAS ALREADY ON TO WHAT WAS GOING ON AND HAVE PREVENTED ANYTHING HAPPENING TO MY DAUGHTERS PC. THAT'S WHY IM ABLE TO BE HERE TODAY. I HAVE A VERY STRONG FEELING AS TO WHO THIS HACKER IS BUT I DON''T HAVE ANY PROOF, BECAUSE MY HARDDRIVE WAS WHIPED OUT SO ALL TRACES OF EVIDENCE IS GONE. I TELL YOU IT WAS SO BAD I COULDN'T EVEN GETR A SECURED LOG ON CONNECTION TO SL ....BUT WHEN I DID I CHANGED THE PASSWORD...... SO BE CAREFULL OUT ON HERE. THERE ARE A LOT OF HACKERS IN SL WAITING TO PUNCE ON YOU .

 

 

 

here is the info from the dump file , im was able to get in game all of 2 min this time....have never had this problem until july 28. which was after i installed an update for nortons. since then i have completely reformated , and after all of this i log into sl using sl v2  and the same thing happens. i have no problems with anything else online. just second life. been play ing 5 yrs and this is a first for me....her's dump file info.

As you may have just discovered, Norton's antivirus and Norton Utilies programs do not play nicely with SL.  Many people have had trouble with texture loading, for example, and with Ruthing. If you use Norton Anti Virus - or any of the Norton suite of utilities, try disabling them, then relogging. Norton has been known to inhibit textures from loading.  That may not solve your problem completely, but Norton may have been the trigger that started it.  It's worth a try to see, anyway.

Beyond dealing with Norton, try opening Preferences (CTRL + P  --- you can do that from your login screen without even logging in) and navigating to Graphics >> Hardware Settings to UNcheck both Enable OpenGL Vertex Buffer Objects (VBO) and HTTP Textures.  Those two features enhance texture loading efficiency for most computers, but actually have the opposite effect for some, and can cause crashes.
