was told i had to up date it has all kinds of flashing of color and objects i hate it want old one

Flashing objects and colours sounds -- on the face of it -- more like a problem with your graphics card or driver than with the viewer.    Has Windows recently automatically updated stuff for you?  If you haven an NVIDIA graphics card, Windows' attempts to be helpful this way sometimes backfire and need manual intervention to fix.
