Summer Logan
Ok so I have my own custom windlight settings that I like to use as my default settings. I used to be able to go into the day cycle editor and set my custom setting for 9am, 12pm, and 3pm so during the day time it would automatically have my custom setting. Now with this new update I'm completely lost. Even after I set under Environment Editor to use my custom settings when I switch between sunset, sunrise, midnight, and midday it reverts back to SL default. How do I set my settings and have them stick threw relogging and cycle changes? Dora Gustafson
I haven't figured it out either:smileysad: Now we really need a Torley Linden tutorial video to guide us
Oz Linden
Create a Sky preset for each of your key times (9, 12, 3); save each of those settings with its own name (my-9, my-12, my-3). Create a Day Cycle preset. In that preset, insert a marker at each of those times and set each marker to the appropriate sky preset. Save that Day Cycle preset with its own name (my-day). Open the Environment editor, select 'Use Custom Settings', and select your saved day (my-day).
Summer Logan
I've done followed all your directions. BUT which I switch sun position to sunset and switch back to midday...the my-day cycle gets reverted back to default. In other words if I may clearify, the my-day is saved but when I change position of sun to sunset it stops using my-day and uses default.
Summer Logan
While having the enviorment editor up this is what I noticed... I made my custom day cycle and made sure it was marked in the editor to use the custom cycle. While having the editor open if I go to world>sun>sunset the editor automatically switches from using custom cycle to using sky preset (or whatever it's called) and it puts it on the default sunset. INSTEAD: It should have changed the time on my already custom day cycle and used the key setting I had within my custom cycle. There are some occasions in SL that require different lightening and I like to have the different effects of the day. For example: I normally always play in midday (on my custom day cycle) but if I go to a beach and have 'romantic time' I might want to be sunset or when I first log into SL I like it on sunrise or if I go to the drivein I would like it on midnight. Because of this new enviroment editor and the way it controls the windlight settings I have to always manually go into the editor and set it to use my custom cycle constantly instead of just being able to switch the sun positions. Summer Logan
Since Mr. Oz Linden hasn't responded anymore is there any other linden or anyone else who can help me with my problem? Thank you

Arya Braveheart
I am not liking the new environment settings. I take pics and used to use the Tuli windlight settings. I now don't have the option to have the sun/moon position at 0.000, which meant it didn't really matter which way I was facing. Please LL, bring back the old settings. Why change a good thing? Arya You can still set the sun/moon position to whatever you like. Look under Environment Editor -> Sky Presets. And, LL didn't change the settings, they just gave you more control over it
Summer Logan
More control? I say less control...because I want to make my custom windlight settings default even when messing around with the world>sun>sunset/sunrise/midnight options...Instead it reverts to default. That is less control when in fact 2.7 I could easily make my custom windlight settings default and always on when I logged in by messing with the day cycle editor. Lol:smileyvery-happy: I experience just the opposite. Saved settings in 2.7 were lost between log ins, but in 2.8 my saved settings are effective each time I log in
Eliza Quixote
I am really frustrated by the new settings because if I just want to play around with a windlight setting temporarily or adjust one that I already have, again temporarily, I can't do it from the environment editor, I have to go in to presets and then edit a preset...way more steps and time than before when I could just open the environment editor and start sliding things all around. I have embraced v2 and really like most of it, but this is the only thing I really do not like.
