How to ensure outfits, prefs etc is kept with a viewer roll-back (V2.8 to V2.7.1)?

Take a look at http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/User_settings to see where LL stores all your good stuff.  If you want a file like your preferences preserved when you delete everything else, just move it to another folder and then copy it back when you have reinstalled your viewer.  Outfits should be in your inventory, which is stored on SL's servers.
