Suddenly and without reason my avatar is footless, any idea how I get to stand up again?

Check in your inventory "worn" tab & you will find that you are wearing either invisiprims or an alpha layer that is hiding your feet. It is probably something that is in the same folder as the shoes, that makes your feet look right while wearing them.

Check in your inventory "worn" tab & you will find that you are wearing either invisiprims or an alpha layer that is hiding your feet. It is probably something that is in the same folder as the shoes, that makes your feet look right while wearing them.

Do as Peewee said and check your worn items. You can also right click on the invisible parts of your feet and choose "detach". You should retrieve your normal feet and be barefoot.
