Should the Login Command Line Switch Work?

This morning I was trying to refine a Windows batch file I use to launch the LL Viewer 2.8 from a flash drive.  I tried to use the Login command line switch.  The program failed to launch and gave an error message saying Login was an unknown option and referring me to http:/wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Client_parameters, where the command line switches, including Login, are listed.  According to this page, my syntax was correct.  I tried it with a Windows shortcut and got the same error.

The reason I want to use this is so entry of login credentials can be handled by the batch file.  If it does not know what account will be logging in, all of the files in C:\Users\Username\Appdata\Roaming\SecondLife have to be copied from the flash drive to the hard drive.

Does anyone know of a workaround?  Is this likely to be fixed in the future?

login requires 3 sspace separated  fields, and must be at the end of the command line... I'm not sure if they ever addressed the bug where using it causes several problems like copy/paste/delete menus and actions being disabled.

Thanks for the response. I had one space between the parameters and it was at the end.  I have used this switch successfully in the past in Windows shortcuts, but it's been a couple of years.  According to the Jira the bug you mentioned did get fixed.

just checked, it was logged in changes for 2.6.6... guess that tells you how long since I used V2 last eh? unfortunately I can't test myself right now, but hopefully some helpful soul will see this and chime in

I checked and it works as it should on 2.7.5, but not on 2.8.2.  Hopefully, when the 2.8 production viewer is released, it will work.

I have explored it more and it is really strange.  The Login switch works as expected in a Windows shortcut in 2.7.5, but not 2.8.2, but the exact same command line doesn't work with either in a Windows batch file.
