As an alternative, you can try using a very slow flying vehicle.  Take a look in Marketplace for your options.  There are some very attractive balloons, for example.  For fun, I once built a junk plane that looks like a winged packing crate that flies barely faster than you can run on the ground.  I'm sure you could find similar practical (or silly) alternatives like that.

Is there a way to customize the viewer to slow flight speed? i like to explore while flying, but i fly too fast.

Welcome to Second Life Answers, Takora.

When I'm out exploring, the "stop" "start" method of flying works for me, otherwise I explore on foot, or by standing on the spot and alt-viewing around the area and double-click teleporting to an interesting place in the sim. Making sure you're not flying too high also helps you to not miss anything while flying over land.

You can use the spacebar as an instant pause to flying. It will work differently depending on which viewer you are on, but for V1 viewers such as Phoenix do the following:

Press ESC to close the chatbar > fly holding down arrow key > hold down spacebar to pause > release spacebar to continue flying.
