Where are the step by step instructions? I just cannot figure out how this works and there are no instructions!

you don't say anything at what point in the process you're at, but if it's not something that is covered by the kb article, ask us and we will do our best to help =)

YOu can move with arrow keys. If you can't move...oh, you need to close stuff down that uses the internet on your pc. I mean, downloaders, video's, music stations and maybe even your browser.

Chat is the box at the bottom. Just walk up to people and type in the white box at the bottom left and then press enter!

To find things, use search. Just type in a single word for best resuts, though they are making this search better lately so it will be like google one day.

YOu basically are in a virtual world. You move, communicate and search to find what you want.

Music can be heard all over, but mostly at clubs.

Role play gaming is at RP sims.

Dancing and chatting with music?...clubs again.

Have a hobby, interest or past time? Search is your choice. Art? Yeah, there are galleries. Do you like musical instruments? THen you might like to see those at stores.

Do you like to shop? Tonnes of stores. Clothes, bikes or anything else you want to find. Search will help.

Groups can help you. They sometimes have people who answer your questions in caht...some are dead and should have been closed a long time ago. BUT all the stuff you see is mostly made by residents like you! Even the groups are started by users, mostly. So...you find some things are great, others are horrible and some things are forgotten relics of someones old fun that they never had the heart to remove!

Your question is a bit like asking for step by step instructions for real life.

Aside from the technical details of how to do specific tasks, most of which you can find the answer to by clicking the tab above called "Knowledge Base",  the way that you live your SL is completely off script just like your RL...It is whatever you make of it.
