Why can I not give edit rights to anyone nor get edit rights from anyone for the last 5 days???

4 of us have been trying to grant edit rights to each other without any results.   We have tried 3 different viewer and neither of them work.  This has been going on for 5 days now and I'm tired of getting the brush off from live chat without any resolution to the problem ;-)
