Very Scary Experience

I usually use Kirsten's viewer, and had been using S21(7) until a couple of days ago when I upgraded to S21(8), with which I could not logon.  Because of that I changed to the LL production viewer first and then the LL beta viewer.  This evening, I uninstalled the latest version of Kirsten's, reinstalled the previous one, and logged on to my last location.  I found myself in a location that I have not visited for months wearing clothes that I have not worn for months.  When I started looking, I found that people that I know recently joined my groups were not members.  The newest thing in my inventory was acquired 8/10/2011, and specific newer items I checked for were missing.  My L$ balance was over 88,000 too high, while the correct balance was shown on the Web.  It appeared that my account had been rolled back to its state in August 2010.  I was, of course, very concerned that I had lost all of the things I've bought and all of the work I have done since then, for which the extra lindens would not have made up.  Thinking that there was little chance that it would make a difference, I logged off and logged on with the LL beta viewer.  I was enormously relieved to find that everything was now as it should be.

Does anyone have an idea what happened?

That actually sounds like you may have logged into Aditi instead of Agni. 

Aditi is the Beta test grid, and unless you change your password, your avatar, group list, inventory, linden dollar balance, will all be rolled back to a previous time. BUT only on Aditi. If you change the grid back to Second Life/Agni all becomes normal again.

you logged into the beta grid (aditi).

the beta grid and the main grid are like two second life, in the beta you will find out that you are the way you were the last time you were there, and huge amount of money will appear in your lindens account, thats so you can try buying things.

to log back to the main grid press ctrl+shift+g and select Agni, thats the main grid, and everything will be back to normal.

Thanks for the responses.  I verified that I did indeed logon to Aditi.

For a second that sounded like what I refer to as the 20L bug.

Everytime there's a new upgrade to the servers, or my viewer is out of date, I log in and find I have 20L. Even if I log into an alt that has 0L... it will claim 20L.

Always self fixes itself by logging out and back in with a new viewer or switching locations.

Weird, u went back in time on SL, for real!  That would have scared me, too!
