i am just wondering if i start my own business can i exchange L$ for rl money is so how much minium L$ do i need.

also i have a free account do i need a paid account to do this.any tips would be gratful,tank you.

Hello, yes you can change L$ to real money and depending on the xchange rate you shouldn´t do that with some 100L$ because of the fees Lindens and maybe your bank take.

No premium membership needed to have a buisness, but you get more support when there´s troubles with your account or ingame shop ... Free members have little to none support.

Finally i would say you better put some real money into SL first because of the upload fees for texture, sculptys ....

at the moment i hace over L$10,000 so i think i got anough to start the business i am hoping to sel my rl photo,s on sl and transver L$ into GB£ but i cant find where it says how many L$ i need to turn into rl money.

I am not sure if there is a startinglimit, but what first came to my mind when I read your thread was that you maybe should first focus on getting your buisness running before thinking about making real money with it.

Probably a dose of SL reallity should be taken into account when opening a business on SL

First you have to have something to sell,so you have to create a lot of things to sell and also be prepared to spend a huge amount of time creating stock.

Then you need to have a shop somewhere,you can get a full island,or a homestead or you can rent a shop in a mall etc.that will be your biggest expense

Now the reality of an SL business,forget search,search is hopeless.

Next is classifieds,they do work but to be noticed you have to pay lots of lindens,one paticularshop pays !000US dollars a week to be first place on classifieds,.

I paid for one for a few weeks and it did bring in the business,i paid about 60US a week but that can get expensive if you don't at least break even

Then there is the marketplace,many prefer to shop there so inworld shopping has greatly suffered.

I had a product called searchbot,it is supposed to check search every hour the keywords you specify,all it ever came back with was "parcel not found in search",i got so tired of seeing that i got rid of it.

I am told that on July 27 search is changing,all i can hope is i fair better in that one than this one,right now search for me is almost non existant,i sent a ticket to LL about not showing in search and they were'nt interested at all,they make no money from merchants on search,they make a ton of money from merchants in classifieds,so why should they care about search.

I suppose i sound negative but this is my reality on SL,i have a huge shop,skins,avatars dresses lots of hair but unless i want to spend a lot of money getting people there with no gurantee they will buy i get very few visitors a day

To start a business in SL, you only need as many L$ as you are willing to lose.

First of all you have to be sure that you have enough L$ to support your bussines (rent,advertising,classified ads e.t.c.) in case things are going wrong for a couple of weeks or months. Then you can consider to redraw L$.

There is an exchange market and a daily rate for L$. There you can sell L$ for real money.

If you want my opinion 10000L$ aren't enough to start thinking something serious.

I'd like to start a tourism agency in world, but I have absolutely NO experience in business, and I'm not a business major in school. I'm still fairly new to SL, but I've done some exploring/research and I stumbled on a blog in which the author explained how when she first went in world, she was disappointed to learn that there was no center for tourism in world. SO, that was my inspiration.

HOWEVER, I don't have any L$, and I don't have any experience running a business (SL or RL), but I really want to do this.

Does anyone know if it's possible to apply for a virtual loan in world?
