Question

My account was hacked, with email and password change, they also cancelled my account. All in the same day, and somehow knew my email's password (which is unrelated to every other password I have) and completely shut me off from my account. I have no idea what to do, I replied to the latest case reply on my emails list, but have no way to log into the Secondlife page, and can't figure out how to submit a ticket without logging in.

I have played many online games and usually there is a recovery system, but I have never had any issues with Secondlife until my account got hacked.

 

I am using a friend to help post.

 

Replying: I have already cancelled my billing information on the account. but, why do I have to pay a fee to reinstate my account if it has been taken from me? (Without my permission.)

You can log in without a password by just clicking help on the login page.  You will be logged in as a guest but you will be able to submit a ticket.

What is more important is running a malware checker to see i someone has put a keylogger on your computer.  Get rid of it fast.  Change all of your passwords and never, EVER give any passwords out to anyone.

Call LL's Billing Office immediately and ask them to remove all payment information from your account, if it still exists.  If it no longer exists, you may wish to either open a new account (my preferred option) or ask for his one to be re-instated (for $9.95).  If your old account is re-instated, I suggest changing all login and payment information.

What ever payment information you provided on your account should be notified.......if a credit card or debit card call your band/cc company right now and tell them.  If PayPal tell them.  Call LL's billing information number and notify them.  Your email password should be changed too.....or consider it done and cancel it or stop using it.  Notify your ISP.  Call your local law enforcement.

 

Do that now and forget about finding answers here..........your real life identity is jeopardy and wasting time here only puts it deeper in jeopardy.
