This board has seen lots of OMG V2 update posts so I am guessing you are not alone. May be a good time to look at a third party viewer .

Uninstall it and go back to the previous version 2.7.2

@ Chic: yes, this update seems to cause major issues for many of us... I'd rather run Phoenix and forget about V2 shadows until the bugs are fixed!

Maybe try another viewer until they get the kinks worked out.  I use Phoenix but you can find list of all approved viewers here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_party_viewers#Third-party_Viewers

it starts to load and then comes a chrashlogger window and it stops

Then follow Nyll's advice and go back to the previous version or, as I mentioned, use a TPV (I use Firestorm and Phoenix) untill the bugs are fixed...
