Bonny Greenwood Posted Thursday at 09:49 PM Posted Thursday at 09:49 PM (edited) I don't know who to go to but I have attempted to file a support ticket on this as well as lodging a complaint through the viewer with no response thus far. One of SL's busy little moles told me that the back to back rounds I am in with the Shop and Hop, gives me the least probability of being invited into the next one, however, I have done my research, compiling the entire database of stores that have participated in every shop and hop function since it began and have found that there is a large number of stores that have participated in nearly every function, some have been invited to each and every one. And while I've only participated in three, I am now being told my chances of participating goes down because I have participated in too many. Granted, I have only participated in 3 events out of a total of 14, soon to be 15 so I'm still relatively new and have yet to participate in many at all. I am struggling to understand how this is fair to all residents that participate in Second Life events when there are always a handful of residents that are chosen over eveyone else. They don't choose participants first come, nor do they actually choose them based on any kind of organized criteria. It would seem their picks are entirely based on their own personal choices. Can someone PLEASE enlighten me as to how this is fair on any level at all? I am very angry that this is how we are being treated. My spreadsheet can be found on the link below. This is totally unacceptable and unfair. I feel that if you're going to have second life hosted events like this, then there should be fairness across the board for everyone, not this roll of the dice or favortism that's happening now. I would appreciate some feedback on the matter please. My spreadsheet is below for you to take a look at. The last page has all of the rounds put together which will make it easier to compare. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-vNpycw1APGrjTmivlQ3_htwnZ2clKCAIcXHbcauIxw/edit?usp=sharing I have submitted support tickets which have gone unanswered and filed complaints that have been ignored. The mole in question is no longer responding to my IMs. I have even contacted higher ups with regards to this matter with NO communication about it. And now... if you do a search on Shop and Hop events, nothing is showing up at all but this feature works fine for any other searches. https://gyazo.com/4e0ca789694cd700a672472fa4fbd626 That indicates to me there is some sort of cover up happening. Soooo... what are your thoughts fellow Second Life community? Edited Thursday at 09:53 PM by Bonny Greenwood additional information
Sid Nagy Posted Thursday at 10:20 PM Posted Thursday at 10:20 PM (edited) I guess the visitors to the Shop and Hops expect that the big names are present. They attract the masses. Nobody will attend the Shop and Hop because I'm present with my Belli Shop. But if What's Next or Trumpe Loeil participate, they will attract hundreds. Fair? I don't know. Logical? For certain. And.. it is their show and circus, not mine, so the Lab makes the rules. It is a take it or leave it. Fill in the form and wait and see. That is all we can do. Edited Thursday at 10:23 PM by Sid Nagy

It is a show that relies on US to keep performing... so with that in mind, I'd think they would want to keep things fair and balanced and NOT try to upset what's left of their resident base. It's a dwindling show for sure. This isn't how to keep the circus act performing. And if they're worried about ensuring they have some big names in there, then sprinkle one or two in but with the same level of fairness afforded to the rest. NOBODY should get special treatment because they have a 'bigger name'. Edited Thursday at 11:08 PM by Bonny Greenwood because the responder edited and I'm including a response to that.

I was rejected from the Christmas round and told I had too many back to back rounds. I've participated in 3 previous ones but I'm relatively new to this event. There are a large number of other stores that have participated in well over half if not all of them. They pick and choose who they want to cut out and who gets to particpate.
Rowan Amore Posted Thursday at 11:42 PM Posted Thursday at 11:42 PM No one knows the inner workings at LL and how they determine anything. Perhaps.they take store sales into account? Stores with more sales in previous rounds are bumped up...or.down? Who knows? 1

That's interesting... then why can't they just respond to me and explain their reasoning if that's the case? They have been avoiding any kind of response at all to me and now when I do a search for the event here in the forums, nothing shows up. It does if I google it but not here. All other searches work fine. It's previous posts that had the information about what shops attended where I gleaned most of my information... and now it seems like they are trying to prevent others from finding it. Seems a little odd doesn't it? Edited Thursday at 11:46 PM by Bonny Greenwood
Bonny Greenwood Posted Thursday at 11:48 PM Author Posted Thursday at 11:48 PM But let me make ONE LITTLE CHANGE to the search criteria and see what comes up. ONLY my recent post regarding this event. https://gyazo.com/5d1f5fa5f05a9995db059026545a8ef4
Rowan Amore Posted Friday at 12:12 AM Posted Friday at 12:12 AM Aside from the original blog post, this is all I found on the Destination Guide. Probably won't be anything else until after this holiday weekend... Holiday Shop & Hop Linden Lab's Holiday Shop & Hop returns on December 6th, 2024. Watch this space for more info. 1

Try doing a search here in the community forums. There were conversations showing up previously about it here. There aren't any now and the search terms Shop and Hop reveals nothing BUT when you alter it a little, you can find something.. and the only something is this post. That doesn't seem a little odd to you? So previous posts are not typically showing via search but they're still there. I had to go through my previous history to find them. They're just not available via search and it doesn't appear they are showing on the blog pages either for people to find. So why would that be? Edited Friday at 12:50 AM by Bonny Greenwood

Btw, searching the forums is a less than ideal. 1

It's ok. I found them all and yes, they've all been posted on their blog. They're simply not easy to find now without doing searches in google and on other sites. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-vNpycw1APGrjTmivlQ3_htwnZ2clKCAIcXHbcauIxw/edit?usp=sharing

Katherine Heartsong Posted Friday at 02:09 AM Posted Friday at 02:09 AM (edited) I didn't even get a response, let alone a rejection letter. Fourth year running. C'est la vie. 🤷♀️ But if I see one crappy Photoshop filter-using "artist" showing work I'm going to blow a gasket. The selections favour the big names. Over and over. Same as the large events. Same stores and vendors at practically every Uber, Cosmopolitan, Anthology, Dubai, K9, Equal, Access, Tres Chic, Collabor88 event, over and over. Try breaking into any of the top four events. I have submitted at total of 33 applications, not a single bite from any of the bigger events. Again, c'est la vie? Their choice, but it's darn depressing for the smaller merchants who will never get the exposure needed to boost their brand at these types of venues. (One notable exception I've seen is the annual Skin Fair. Sure, all the usual brands are there, but there are a ton of smaller vendors there as well that I really like seeing new things from.)
