Mobile app chat window

Is there a way to see messages and chat on the screen when walking around, when I go to chat and to messages my screen is blurred out in the background.

There is not.

I'm broadly unhappy with the mobile client and have written up my thoughts on the feedback site. I suggest you do the same.
