Magic box Headache... Only one box that is active...but...

I recently rezzed a magic box inworld (probably about a month ago) and placed my sale items into the box and listed the items on the marketplace. Everything looked as it should until someone tried to purchase something - the item couldn't be delivered. Fair enough as I understand that there have been delivery errors recently, which is normal. However, this is where the weirdness starts: I go to manage my inventory on the marketplace and it's showing everything as red and unavailable, but it's clearly there and the listings still look correct. :matte-motes-bashful:

I have looked at the magic box status and it looks correct. Everything is there in the box. What's creeping me out is that my spouse's box is working fine and my alt's box is working fine (and all the boxes are rezzed on the same land), but the box for this account just isn't working. As I said all the listings look fine and all the items are associated, but it's unlisted everything saying it's not available. :matte-motes-big-grin-squint:

 

Now...I'm thinking as this is a newer registered account (67 days old) that that might have prevented it from working, but I can't find any mention of account age in the knowledge base.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Go in-world to the Magic Box and Take it into your Inventory. Then rez it out again and wait for it to complete its color change cycle and return to white.

Go to your Manage Inventory page after the Magic Box finishes and Sync Marketplace with Magic Boxes then wait about 5 minutes.

Refresh the Manage Inventory page and you should be back to okay.

Thanks for this. I've done that a couple of times already and it doesn't seem to be taking. I'm wondering if I'm just cursed! Oh noes! :P

 

Updated: I purchased another magic box from the Marketplace and replaced it. I hope this will fix it. The items have been listed again. Many thanks! :)

for a long time my box was magic :D it never failed,it sent objects lightning fast...market place life was great.

Magic box after it was bought out and joined the magic Linden team...not so magical...at times I wonder if there are strings on it like the old 2 tin cans and a string phones....it fails,it has to be reset all the time...it still fails...I think there is a knot in the string :(

Hi Strawberryfizz,

If your entries on your Manage Inventory page are showing highlighted and say Unavailable, it means that your Magic Box is no longer in communication with the SLM web site.


1. Go to your Magic Box Status Page that is linked under your Merchant Home Page on the Second Life Marketplace and remove all of the Magic Boxes you have listed there.

2. Go in-world and "Touch" each Magic Box and select Reset from the popup menu that appears.

3. Wait. Do not reset your Boxes again during this time or you will risk having your Box show up with incorrect data and your items will remain inactive). The Magic Box colors will change during the communication process. Once the Magic Box returns to the default color, the communication process is complete and the Magic Box should be re-linked to the web site.

4. After the Magic Box color changes back to the default, go to your Manage Inventory page on the Second Life Marketplace and click on the "Sync Marketplace with Magic Boxes" button located on the right side of the page.
