When I was a youngster in SL there was a "create an avatar" service where you could have a skin based on an actual photo of yourself. I could not think of anything more horrific!

I do try and stay true to age for my avatar though - it's not easy looking over 20 something here in SL!

When it comes to looking a certain age above 20 something this is too true . I get tired of being a smooth , pretty, , naive , dumb , god-like being of 23, so I try to age it up to like 37 and that's absolutely the hardest thing to do since it's a subtle difference . The options I usually find go too far and take it from barely 18 jail bait to 65 year old granny . Anything between that is a challenge .

 

But no, I dress different , I look different , and I experiment with multiple looks , styles , whatever I like . Not one of those squares who's like " this is the real me ! * Most boring avatar you ever saw in your life * . In fact , the ones who usually claim to have based their avatar off of their real life tend to look BETTER than their avatar in real life cause of how mundane they make their avatars . That part always made me laugh, since it's usually people like me who's avatar looks 100x better than their real life self 😭.

Heck no, I've never had a waist in real life and am not anywhere as tall as my avatar. We would both live in pyjamas if we could though.
