Space Zehetbauer Posted November 20 Posted November 20 I have been meaning to ask this question and saw a reference to hair in another thread this morning, so... I have a legacy petite body and LeLutka evox head. I am struggling to find good quality, non glowing, interesting styled hair. I am also open to suggestions for places that excel in unusual styles. I am usually blond, but will try anything once so there is no restriction on styling/colour. Using search does my head in because there are so many top entries with zero traffic or very few products. Is there an international hair fest I can go to? Is there a hair mega mart? Thanks in advance for the thousands of suggestions that will come flooding in. 2
Orwar Posted November 20 Posted November 20 My favourite brand is Stealthic, but there's tons of good/decent brands out there. Doux, Magika (just announced their Black Friday sale, too), S-Club, Truth, to name a few more good ones. 6 minutes ago, Space Zehetbauer said: Is there an international hair fest I can go to? Hair Fair, but that's an annual event (June, I think) so it'll be a while before they're open again. 1
Josephine Carissa Posted November 20 Posted November 20 Hi Space, I'm wearing the Lara petite, and the LaraX petite. For long hair: Truth, Wings, (even on these i find that the "S" breast size the hair is still away from the body, Demo or try some of their free/gifts ones). For short hair: Dura or Tram, (they have colors and up to date styles and some old ones too.....i find that sometimes i can use unisex or male styles too). Have fun shopping : ) Josephine 2
Katherine Heartsong Posted November 20 Posted November 20 (edited) DOUX and Magika are my go-tos. Wings has some nice ones as well including some neat vintage styles. Size 1 or 2 will fit perfectly with the DOUX brand but with any brand, you can always use the Lelutka (4.0) HUD and hide your scalp. (I don't find Truth value for L anymore, since discovering brands that have all colours in a single hair purchase. I won't go back to having to pay hundreds of Lindens for each colour set.) Rowan Amore Posted November 20 Posted November 20 (edited) There are some hair places I avoid since their hair is so very unoptimized. Truth is one of them and Monso is another. Whenever I'm demoing anything, I check complexity and triangle count. Some hairs are over 500K in triangles. The first pic is without hair and the 2nd is with a hair from one of those brands. That's a million and A half triangles! Tram and Doux are usually very well done and Tram is often modify which is great. ETA...try .SHI for unusual style. Also, older hair but Boon has some as well. Love Zhaoying Posted November 20 Posted November 20 (edited) I can't recommend Dura enough...they have a nice unisex section, and also male and female hairs. Rowan sent me there! @Space Zehetbauer http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Dura Dura/81/148/27 Examples from their Unisex section: Edited November 20 by Love Zhaoying 3

I did try Sintiklia's demo the other day, it was almost 1.5m triangles, and I saw more of their styles within the same range. So it could be even worse if that's their average numbers. And... they didn't even look that amazing. --- And my usual go-to are Stealthic and Magika. Both fit well and have nice textures. I would like to use more from other creators, but a lot, even big creators do not fit their hair correctly. Foxy and Doux come to mind, they "float" around forehead quite a bit more than I'm okay with, even on smallest provided sizes. But if that's something that might not bother you, then do check Foxy too as it weren't suggested yet, they do have a few of nice styles. Doux also haven't updated his textures for years at this point, they start to look pretty dated (the more bright tones you use the more obvious it is). Dura is really great too if you want shorter ones. And yeah, if you are going to buy a lot, then just demo for now and buy next week when sales start everywhere (Magika's already started like Orwar has mentioned earlier).
