1. Fashionista: Owns 15 heads but only wears one or two. Constantly tries every new body just to stay updated. Most people can't really tell the difference.

2. Perpetual Noob: Uses the same freebie starter avatar for 20 years.

3. Rip Van Winkle: Uses the same formerly very fancy system avatar for 15 years. Thinks Stiletto Moody is still popular.

4. Wizard: Rarely appears in public, but it's a miracle when they do.

Lol. " most people can't tell the difference", is exactly what someone who doesn't pay attention to details would say. I'm to the point that I can visually name a lelutka head and a mesh body without inspecting them most of the time. I experiment with most of them often too, impulsively when I'm bored. It's not a "just to stay  updated", it's a " wow, that seems like an amazing body to pull off this kind of proportions,  or this kind of body-type ", or " wow, this head goes so well with this style of human archetype , race, " etc... :3.. Not even remotely concerned about fashion, but more about creative experimentation.

I'm definitely category 4.
Only in my starters days I was interested in the social aspect of Second Life. I do a bit of exploring every now and then though.

Since I stopped building and producing for SL a few months ago, I'm slowly sliding towards category 5: Second Life, when did I last log in?
I'm premium plus until end of April next year and if the current situation doesn't change, that will pretty much be the end date of the SL career of this oldbie.

No, you can't have my stuff. :D

Heh.  I suspect the OP is correct. Most people can't tell the difference. Personally, I know I can't, and I don't much care either.  It has nothing to do with being an "oldbie" or not paying attention to details. It's a matter of what people choose to be interested in. I just don't find the detailed differences between heads particularly interesting.

Given the limited selection of labels, I guess "Wizard" fits me better than the others. (Yay, Sid!) That's true in RL too. I've rarely been interested in clubs and large scale events. I wander a lot in world but I tend to end up in places where there are few people, or at least few people I know.

I am "in-between" a few of those.

I use a "new" head and "somewhat new" body, and use "new" hair with it.  I occasionally shop for the "perfect" hair, so that's a lot of shopping recently (and there are several related Forum threads where people "voted" on my hairs).

I don't go out in "public" much because I'm always busy on my projects. (Although, my home parcels are set to "Public" and people can visit me anytime.)

15 heads

I don't fit into any of your categories!!   :(     I just have one measly head.  I do like to shop for new outfits but wouldn't say I'm a fashionista..

I would definitely be less of a hermit if I had more friends invite me to stuff, especially like when @Scylla Rhiadra had the Forumites gathering at her art show!!

But clubbing..I can take it or leave it. Shopping..only if I want/need something specific.

Scripting, I am there. All. Day.

I have 4 mesh heads in my inventory, but I simply can't be arsed to figure out how to get them going. I tried once, I did not get the skin working the way it should, so I still use my system head.  Tells a lot how much I care for the SL fashion trends I guess.

I cheat - because @Rowan Amore has been such a big help. Maybe we can clone her.

None of the above.

Closest to fashionista I guess, but I own over 30 heads and always wore the majority of them. I only use two bodies and two chest mods. Mod support (legs, tails, feet, hands, arms, torsos, etc.) was always more important to me than new fads. People absolutely can tell the difference as most of my heads aren't even in the same realm (a skull vs. a fox head, etc.).

I think I'm closest to fashionista, even though I recently started using the first head that I bought when I started playing Second Life, so I'm more of a person that "If I like it, I buy it" rather than "It's new so I must buy it".

I've purchased very few mesh heads.  I might, after a year or two, change skins for the head I always wear.

However, I'm fond of collecting fashion as it pertains to clothing, accessories, hair styles, etc.   I've used Maitreya which I used for many years then switched to Legacy.  I only switched from Legacy to Reborn because of the terrible (high) render cost of that body.  I'll stick with my same head and body for years.  I might change my outfit, including my wig!, a couple of times a day depending on where I'm going.

Somewhat a Fasionesta though not entirely for the reasons given. For example my earlier heads are no longer updated or supported so had to move to Lelutka heads though I don't really like them. They look ok but I can make my previous ones look similar if the makeups were available for them which they aren't. Bodies too as increasing amount of creators don't make their outfits compatible with older bodies like the hourglass and now the Miatreya.

I'm starting to ignore sales and will only consider purchasing something if I see someone wearing something I really like.

I noticed just now that @Charlemagne Allen makes a lot of posts about "Noobs", and now "Oldbies"!!  Trying to divide us, eh?!?

So divisive!

They make interesting observations about the newer specimen which stimulate far more genuine thought than the deviant huskies ever have with their forced, topics , created to mock every other topic in the forum. :3

Since I don't do this, and I'm not a deviant, and I do not RP as "huskies", I know this cannot be about me.

So, I'll just assume it's about someone else, unless you just don't "get it".

Glad I have you on ignore! Why, oh why, did i read this post? LOL!!!

I think I am 5. Uses the same formerly fashionable mesh avatar (maitreya and Lelutka Erin head) for the last five years. Still thinks Coldlogic and Insanya are cutting edge fashion.  Only ever online to create or participate in public events.

I do probably have more than ten heads, mostly sculpty furry including tiny and micro ones. I think the only other mesh head I have (that is not a part of a set like a petite) is the Slink head that animated with scripts.

None of the above feels accurate.

I do own a few heads, mostly just because I pick up the Lelutka gifts at Christmas 'just in case' on each of my avies. But I only use one head on each of them, and I seldom change skins. Hair, clothes, accessories and makeup changes often, sometimes multiple times a day. I'm never 100% content with my shapes and keep fiddling with the sliders, often doing minute changes and then going back and forth a bit until it looks right .. And then I come in a few moments later seeing it from a different angle and change a little something again.

There are a few pieces of apparel from the early days of mesh that still look objectively better than a lot of new stuff, I still have some apparel that comes in 'standard sizes' that I'll wear, but I'm also checking pretty much every new shopping event as they come.

I look nothing like I did a few years back, and I don't know if 14 years qualifies as an 'oldbie'.

As for how 'fashionable' I am .. I suppose that's a matter of opinion.

Suppose I'm mostly #4 though, public places are scary. They might have people in them!
