I frankly don't remember how long the Debug setting YawFromMousePosition has been around.  If it was available when 1.23 was released, that would be the settting to change.  Set it to 0.0 .  If that doesn't work, it's probably not possible.

I tried YawFromMousePosition but it didn't do anything far as I can tell. Relogged to be sure.

Then it looks like you can't do what you want in 1.23.
