Kathlen Onyx Posted November 18 Posted November 18 (edited) I have been wanting a Stilt home either on water or on a pier since forever. Every once in awhile one becomes available but that's about it. These homes are constantly "sold out" Obviously LL knows that these two themes are popular. I know that converting a log cabin or boathouse region into a stilt home region might be some work but why hold out on things they know their customers want? Stop releasing new themes and add to the themes we already have so that the supply meets the current demand. Take the old Linden houses and covert them to regions that are the most popular. Stilt home on pier and water, Ranch and Mediterranean. It's been years since the new Linden homes were released so I don't understand the delay in getting rid of the old themes and converting them to the new ones. Edited November 18 by Kathlen Onyx 2
Nika Talaj Posted November 18 Posted November 18 You might think that converting old (legacy, non-Belli) regions to Belli themes saves LL time and/or money, but that's generally not the case. For example, Abnor Mole has said repeatedly that reworking old regions to change their theme is not worth the effort - it's more efficient to simply delete them and start with new ones. If you watch the world map you can see that there are quite a few people still using legacy LHs. And many more legacy Homes are owned (and thus paid for) than are in use at any one time. So, deleting those regions involves evicting existing users - you can understand why that may be more costly to LL than simply leaving the regions as they are. Particularly if those regions are running on older hardware, which was mentioned quite a while ago. (Your suggestion is brought up often). Your other point, about Belli themes that are in short supply, presumably will be addressed over time. A little over a year ago, it seemed like there were NEVER any available houseboats. Then the moles built the entire zone of them up near Satori, and now houseboat inventory is plentiful. I doubt LL will be eliminating any! It's entirely likely that something similar will eventually happen with stilts. Certainly there's open grid space near Belli which could accommodate more stilts. I know of only one unreleased stilt region, SSPFull Deck. It has 24 stilts-on-pier, so if I were you I would watch that region closely and when its name changes, move fast! The moles have been actively building and releasing both Ranch and Mediterranean homes as we speak. 1
Polenth Yue Posted November 19 Posted November 19 If they didn't make new themes until current themes had excess, stilts, ranch and mediterranean wouldn't exist. They'd have kept making traditional and houseboat regions and nothing else. There's a balance between filling out current themes and making new themes. That looks pretty solid at the moment. They've released more stilts this year as well as continuing work on the premium plus areas. They also have the planned tiki theme, which will most likely appeal to some of the current stilt owners and free up some space.
