Stex Auer Posted November 17 Posted November 17 (edited) Immerse yourself in the images of Melusina Parkin from another point of view: your ears.We asked Jim Digriz, artist, director and musician in real life who has realised important public events, for an Underscore to listen to while visiting the exhibition. A musical Underscore is not a soundtrack, it is rather a storytelling, a tale to listen to, an underlining of what you see. This is A Sonic Journey towards infinity. Jim commented on his work as follows: "Imagine you are walking through an art gallery, immersed in an almost tangible silence, interrupted only by your footsteps. Works of art surround you, inviting you to stop, observe, and reflect. Now imagine that this silence is delicately punctuated by sounds, by melodies that intertwine with the images, amplifying their emotional impact, and leading you on an even deeper sensory journey. This is the experience I tried to create by composing the soundtrack for 'Journey to Infinity', Melusina Parkin's exhibition. Her photographs, characterized by poetic minimalism, immediately struck me with their ability to evoke a sense of peace and infinity. Looking at the everyday details, vast landscapes, urban scenes, and industrial views immortalized by Melusina, I perceived an invitation to a journey, not only visual but also emotional. I wanted to translate this feeling into music, creating a 45-minute continuous flow, like a soundtrack to a film without images. A sound carpet envelops the viewer, accompanying them on an introspective exploration through Melusina's works. Although conceived for the exhibition, the music is a work. It can be listened to independently of the photographs, offering a complete and fulfilling listening experience. The sounds and melodies I have created are inspired by the evocative atmospheres of Melusina's photographs, but at the same time they are liberated from the images, inviting the listener on an imaginary journey of their own. Melusina's photographs do not merely describe reality, but transform it, inviting us to reflect on our inner world. Similarly, the music does not simply accompany the images, but amplifies them, enriching them with new emotional nuances. This is an invitation to enter this sound space, to let yourself be transported by the images and sounds, on a journey to discover the infinite within you. Close your eyes and let the music guide you. Let the melodies lead you through the inner landscapes evoked by Melusina's photographs. Discover how reality and virtuality merge, creating a unique and immersive experience." Jim's music and Melusina Parkin's works (*) are at TAG The Art Garden, come and enjoy a journey into infinity.
