When I opened the website today and checked the forums, everyone's profile header was showing up twice, like this:

Is this just me, or is it happening for everyone?

Using Firefox browser.

Turn on Dark Theme and it will go away in most browsers so far.

I tried to file a bug report, and Quartz Mole said he will try to get it routed to the right place.

There are several threads about it.

It's not just in the browser on Windows, on my iPhone it's completely not usable any more 😞  I hope they fix it soon!

Yes, someone else posted about their iPhone and I reproduced it - switching to "Dark Theme" on iPhone fixes it there also. (For me, at least - I use Chrome on my iPhone.)

So far, I didn't see any posts that switching to "Dark Theme" (link is at the bottom of every page) does NOT fix it..

Are the LL web devs on cr$%k? The web view of the forums is messed up on mobile too. I zoomed out to fit them here.

Yes. @Rick Nightingale pointed out that the issue is related to the mobile/phone and normal configurations being both included for "Normal Theme". This is why it is ok for "Dark Theme" both on phone and PC browsers.

ETA: Yes, there's a known, related issue with the site on Mobile. Not "Yes, they are on crack". All this was caused by an update to the (third-party) Forum software, almost definitely.

Just in case this is useful here too (sorry don't know how to quote properly from another thread) - although sounds like it's all nicely in hand already :)

I've had a quck look.

The thing thats stands out is the dark theme has css containing this

@media (min-width: 768px) {
    .ipsApp .ipsResponsive_showPhone {
        display:none !important;
    }
}

The standard theme does not seem to have this implemented and hence at 768px the ipsResponsive_showPhone is not overridden to display:none.

The duplication in the DOM arises here.

<div class="cAuthorPane_mobile ipsResponsive_showPhone">
        <div class="cAuthorPane_photo">
            <div class="cAuthorPane_photoWrap">.....

I can't be bothered investigating any more, but it's pretty straight forward and I'm sure LL have people who spotted this already.

But anyone else raising an issue - stick this in, it might help.

Thanks Rowan.

I have to use 2 browser windows sometimes (to quote from 1 thread into another) - or "copy" the quote from where  it starts after using "+" and "paste" it from there into a different thread.

Yes.

May be affected by use of Firefox, private browsing, ad blocking, cookie blocking, or other things that should have zero effect on page layout.
