Some of the advantages of Horizons Neptune, it`s a calm west part of Horizons with just one shop that has not much of traffic, no hidden clubs that would make the sim laggy so it`s a nice and calm area to live. Some of the residents are bloggers or Flickr creators so houses that people set are also nice to look at. For people that need some more space, adjanced parcel is set for rent most times so can be rented expanding space to double with 1400 prims.

About Horizons...as i see in this forum or around grid it`s a toxic topic, let me say something as a SL resident for 16 years and Horizons resident for 6. OLD MAINLAND IS DEAD! Land barons killed that sl part long time ago with cutting of parcels like a kid cutting paper with a scissors so it`s a land of zig zags for 1l$ per 1 prim that this forum lives on. You need a mainland road or blake sea? pay lots, rest is wothless in other case as you might have a neighbor with several years minus on rent as both neighbor and renting comapny are out of sl.

About Horizons prices, i think some people around forum live in happy fairytale world where a tent in slums is worth the same money as hollywood hills estate. Sure if your ping pong song smartphone costs same as Apple smartphone than good for You but Horizons or Bellisera is not ping pong song smartphone. Horizons parcels prices were rational sure, before land dealers and barons jumped in with buying land for 60k selling for 80k-90k, blame land barons from this forum and inlaftion or asian renatl agencies that sell their land for 500k+ just for safety from land barons. Also Horizons or Bellisera has limited space so You pay for limited space not abandoned expanse of old mainland. In rl when someone get a appartment in a closed community we say wow thats class and rich, in sl it`s like oh what a overpay!. Well when LL added permamnent premium i noticed in my permanent premium friends and around a trend to buy Horizons as their attached forever 1024m, as if you stay you go for quality.

In 6 years of Horizons life i managed to have an amazing life with neighbors including creators, Linden Lab employees, shop owners, flick content creators, shops and business owners sometimes by just driving around sim or by talking about decor or getting neighbor invites for a party with game of skippo. I think hate for Horizons and it`s prices is created from land business people jelous behavior as when they cant have something they create a bad word about it.

Horizons isn't a toxic topic per se, but the thought of spending the equivalent of C$800 on a virtual parcel of land would have me in divorce court. I don't care how the prices got this outrageously nuts, it's not real. I admire those who can splash out that sort of cash for a tiny parcel of land in a world that might vanish tomorrow without a single word of warning, but it's not me.

I'll keep my sailing 8192 with water on three sides and great looking neighbours that I paid about 20K for.

Trust me, my parcel looks way better than any of those 1024s on Horizons.

Old mainland is dead? Just sounds like bad words. ;)

Well Katherine i still belive old mainland is dead, when i joined sl 16 years ago it was something, reading sl guide book or looking on vast people properties there it was huge but the idea was too big and unpractical and still is. Years of sl proven that smaller, enclosed communities like Babbage, Insilico, Bay City, have more life inside and makes people actualy feel like community and work in some goal of expnding the community so years later now we see linden lab going for mainland 2.0 with regions like Horizons or Bellisera and that proves working. Old mainland is a way too huge area of mixed mess that only keeps some life in areas closed to Blake Sea or roads but even with that i seen more drivers on Horizons in a week than i seen on mainland routes in month so even that does not realy work much. I base my opinion on what i have read in comments around Horizons sales and how salemen downgrade Horizons to try and sale their other properties where it`s mainland shenigans of buing land for below 1l$ per m2 and selling it for above 1l$ per m2.

Nice rant. Good way to ruin one's own sale. xD

Imagine demanding iPad prices for a puny1024m2 ping pong parcel that’s permanently surrounded by a questionable implementation of some sort of a bright white retro futuristic road lining, while being neighbours with an ugly 4 floor brick building, sharing the region with a store and not being able to terraform or even make a dock to rezz your boat at to enjoy the surrounding canal waters and proclaiming the death of mainland.

No thanks, I’ll stick to the beautiful mainland oceanfront I paid a minuscule fraction of a price for in an auction, surrounded by great neighbour while enjoying an immediate chain of almost 100+ water only regions to sail in.
