Hi,

is there a solution to stop the kind of cloud turning on itself and appearing around a prim a few seconds when a script is working after a click on the prim ? it's really annoying.

thank you in advance for any advice/help

don't know where and if it's available in LL viewer, but in firestorm:

create particle effects

I was going to say, isn't this "viewer-side"? Meaning, you can only "turn it off" for yourself.

Swirlies appear whenever the script is saying something on a channel that you should be able to hear. So,  you can comment out any statements that send messages in chat, llOwnerSay, etc.

I was thinking about this earlier, and no "swirlies" are created if the object with the script is attached to your HUD (that's my own experience with something I work on a lot). Correct?

I hide this function when a script must talk by adding an extra prim that resides below ground/ floor level and having that prim do the talking.

It's a work around but it does the job by hiding the unwanted swirlies below ground/ out of sight.

Particles never work on the HUD, so yeah. 🙂

So maybe it's a "happy coincidence" - but the particles in question are not "generated consciously" (by user script), but as a "side effect".

The only relevance those "swirlies" have - for me - is, "which object is spamming me"?
