Did you encounter an especially nasty group of people recently? I'm sorry you had that experience. They are be a salty bunch in my opinion and only interested in their own money. There will of course also be denial in response to this. Cause nobody wants to admit they've sunk thousands of hours and dollars into a failing world. Similar patterns can be observed in other games. SL is mostly outperforming them at this point because it has a user-base. I've had my share of those and came back feeling refreshed and kind of newby'ish.. They also had me ending up on different paths each time that I came back. What works for me might not for you, but it might.. But also if you are done, you wouldn't come back after a break anyways, but if you do, I'm just saying it may feel like a whole other place.. In my experience SL has never been better Same here...never better. But like you (if I remember you correctly) I've had some hard times. Difficult enough that I wanted to quit 2nd life. I'll give you an example. I pay for singers. Most are nice, but here is the thing. They bring their entourage with them. None of them are interested in anything but the music. They poof the minute the music stops. The singers mostly poof as well. All the fun is between the singer and the entourage. I get nothing. I have spent 80k on singers in the past year. I have nothing to show for it. But yet the entourage that come are all cliquey and have all these inside jokes. When I hired musicians I experienced the same -- people come for the music and not the venue. It's just how it works here. So actually your plan (and mine) is a flawed one. Hey, head back to 2007 or 2008 for me. Having concerts on my beautiful sim was never beneficial to me and I simply lost money paying the musician. The concerts were fun but I needed to make money too! I remember that back when I started in 2009. That's what DJs and singers and hosts do. You are the customer that rents from the landlord and purchases from the creator and that's why these people do what they do -- so you can have these things and of course they should be compensated for their effort/time.
