Jackson Redstar
This has been driving me nuts - sure I can turn off all particles and the swirlies are gone - but is their anyway to turn off those swirlies by themselves and otherwise leave particles on? This is on the FS viewer btw. I was told unchecking the 'Create particle effects when scripts communicate' would turn these off - nope . I am not even sure where these are coming from , if someone is selecting the object or what, but when I am videoing live events they are very annoying and sometimes, otherwise, I need particles on
Clem Marques
I hate those swirling white particles as well No clue how to get rid of them, unfortunately. Edited September 5 by Clem Marques

It's a bug in PBR viewers, if you have your UI off (which I assume you want while doing camera work), selecting any object will make it constantly emit the particle swirls and deselecting will not help. Turning off the swirls or particle beams does not work, only setting particle count to 0 does. Chaos ensues: https://i.gyazo.com/27af2aa2e5f3168273753809010b82ec.mp4 Firestorm has a JIRA for it: https://jira.firestormviewer.org/browse/FIRE-34345 and I thought there was a report on feedback.secondlife.com but I couldn't find it - maybe one should be written since it's a LL inherited issue.
Aishagain
I never saw that issue on the FS PBR release, but since then I have run a selcetion of alpha and Beta FS viewers and I do not see it now, so maybe the issue was fixed in those viewers. I do not think it was a FS-only issue so presumably LL fixed it.

Yeah, it's definitely not supposed to become a permanent effect when selecting an object while the UI is off. It does happen on LL viewer 7.1.10 DeltaFPS so it very much isn't fixed, the gyazo video clip in my previous post is taken in that viewer.
Gabriele Graves
I'm on the FS 7.1.10 Beta and change the setting above turns on/off the swirls on right selecting an object. So perhaps it has been fixed in the beta.

Though I am not selecting an object nor do I think anyone else is it is more they are walk poses down to the alter and if they are 'in use' they swirl. But we'll see on the next release if the issue goes away
