xjohnklm Posted September 3 Posted September 3 a content creator whose work I really like removed his old releases from 2017-2020. which is not fair for new sl user like me . i feel really disappointed about this and it's really not fair. i'm so jealous of other residents that have her stuff. she refused to sell me her old gacha's and old releases which is frustrating ;(. i really loved her furniture so much. when i talked to her manager she said that the owner can do whatever he wants with his store and then i got blocked. 1 1 1 1

xjohnklm Posted September 3 Author Posted September 3 i really do understand you both. but people who own her stuff won't understand me. at least instead of buying some of her old gacha's with 10k lindens from a agcha reseller and it's not even safe at least she may help regarding this and sell me her stuff for their real price. i will give you an example some of her old gacha costs 500 lindens a gacha reseller is selling it for 10k lindens so this is called theft.also i contacted her she doesn't reply ;( 1 1 1

It’s not her responsibility to go out of her way for you to sell you retired items just because you don’t way to pay gacha prices. That’s a you problem, you should message the gacha sellers and complain about how their prices are not fair. 1 1
James Starling Posted September 3 Posted September 3 This happens in real life too. I'm a budding photographer in RL and there are film cameras I would love to be able to buy new but they stopped making them years ago. Some are so rare you can't even find them second hand as people just won't sell them. Some rely on electrical components that they don't even make anymore so once they break they're gone forever. The ones you can buy are crazy money. If you want one then that's what you have to pay. It's their store, they can do what they want. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 6

Um... no. If a seller doesn't want to sell a discontinued item, that's IT. It's entirely her business. It's totally fair. Other residents bought the items when they were still available. Times have changed. Find something else to buy, or make something else. 2
Ayashe Ninetails Posted September 3 Posted September 3 Happens all the time in SL and RL and there's really nothing anyone can do about it. Old products get removed to make room for newer items. Same with older gachas. If they're rare or no longer available, resellers do tend to charge quite a lot for them. If they're unable to sell, the prices may come down over time. 3
Love Zhaoying Posted September 3 Posted September 3 I suppose if you consider Second Life a "game", then sometimes games are "not fair"! 1
AzureWaves Posted September 3 Posted September 3 Just be glad that it's available on Marketplace reseller market for you to buy. So now the problem is your unwillingness to pay the price. Whine whine whine whine whine. 1

Rowan Amore Posted September 3 Posted September 3 I'd really love to buy an old '70's model Chevy but dangit, General Motors stopped making those in....the 70s! Now, if I want one, I have to pay 10s of thousands to a reseller who invested his money to restore it. I want that '70s car at '70s prices! 5 1

Is this for real? This has to be one of the most entitled things I've read on an SL forum. Ever. 1
Madelaine McMasters Posted September 3 Posted September 3 I used to have two parents. Both of them quit! I understand your disappointment John. I have my own. In the grand scheme of things, simply being able to log into SL puts you ahead of most of the world's population. Jealousy is self defeating. Focus on wanting what you have, not having what you want?... 7 3
Madi Melodious Posted September 4 Posted September 4 (edited) I don't see what the problem is here. If a creator takes down something that you want to buy, just reach out to the creator and see if they will sell it to you. If they are removing old content, you might just get a nice discount. Most creators remove old products because they are not selling and it's a pain to keep up a huge marketplace of crap that nobody is buying. My alt reached out to a creator that had removed a bunch of her old formal gowns. After a little chatting I got copies of everything she removed, about 20 dresses for about $10 US. I was happy and she was happy. Edited September 4 by Madi Melodious 5
