I contacted FS support several times over last few days.

  • Main account - firestorm continues to crash immediately at login.
  • When I can log into main account firestorm loading ultra slow almost like it does not want to load.
  • Again my other accounts do not have this issue.

These are the things I have already done

  • Cleared computer cache.
  • Cleared google cache.
  • Cleared all caches in FS preferences.
  • Restarted computer many times.
  • launch the viewer but do not attempt to log in. Instead, make sure affected username is shown, then click the trashcan icon next to username to delete the credentials for that username, then re-enter your username and password. Click Login button.
  • I have communicated with my gaming tech service who checked all drivers and other computer updates to make sure computer updated.
  • As firestorm suggested I removed about half my groups because it was the firestorm csr opinion this may be the issue.  (I however cannot remove all groups being some cost over $1,500L for one group membership).

Yesterday

i did use my main sl account for hours.
Then i logged off.

When I went to log back into main account again FS crashed immediately at log in.
I had to do the, 'click the trashcan icon next to username to delete the credentials for that username' step again.

I was then able to log into main account but i feel uneasy like there is still something wrong with main account that is not being addressed.

I don't know if its a bridge issue...  or corrupted file issue or if its something else.
I took a pic of my firestorm folders in inventory if it helps that are attached.

Looking for suggestions.

  • I'm wishing to log into main account without firestorm crashing.
  • Would it be best to change viewers?

Computer desktop tower specs.

  • Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz   2.90 GHz
  • 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)
  • 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
  • Windows 10 Home
  • version 22H2

Help > About Firestorm

Copy and paste everything from the window to here. There is a major bug that is affecting older versions of Firestorm now. Given this is affecting one account it seems like this might be the cause but we need to see the version of Firestorm you are using to know.

If Firestorm support are suggesting it may be a group thing they are referring to this major bug, if it is then you need to find which group is using a 2048x1024 profile image and leave that group or use a more up to date version of Firestorm that isn't affected.

I did check every one of my groups profile images.  None were the size 2048x1024 or larger.  But...  There were several groups that had the profile image size of 1024x1024.

Looks fine, you could increase your cache size but that isn't going to cause a crash. Equally 1024x1024 group/profile pictures are not a problem.

Your GPU driver is older (June 2023) but once again this isn't going to cause a crash, it's a stable version and should be fine.

When you say crash do you mean with a Bugsplat message? can you run any other 3D apps that use the GPU with no problem (games, benchmarks etc)?

Are you always logging in at the same place with this account?
