I haven't been inworld much or as much as I would like, or maybe I just forgot. I took my Zooby son with me to visit a new hotel advertised in the Destination Guide. We went there because it had a restaurant. Fortunately, we did some exploring first. Then we came inside and sat in the restaurant. There were no menus and not much food to be seen. Many SL restaurants at least have a buffet. I went AFK to look up the kind of food that might be available in a hotel restaurant and when I came back, I was standing outside the model suite in the hotel's back yard. I had been ejected and the restaurant, which was completely empty, was "reservation only." Yes, the sim has an adult rating. Yes, some people hate Zooby children. Yes, my avie is old school. And yes, they had the right to ban me which they eventually did, because I went back to ask for an explanation..

They had every right to ban me, even for a bad reason. I just wish LL would take tolerance of diversity among avies into account when putting places in its Destination Guide.

There was an incident not too long ago with some accusations that caused LL some negative PR. LL ultimately decided to update their terms of service, and now child avatars are disallowed in adult regions.

If the Zooby baby is an animesh attachment, are they included in the ToS?  I assumed that only referred to child avatars.

Oh you mean like state in the Destination guide that the sim is only for Adults or something?  I believe they do list the sim rating though, and that should be enough I'd think...

I'm in the Destination Guide but don't recall if I'm listed as M.

"Immersion"

 

RL upscale eateries that are reservation only, generally frown on people walking in off the street carrying a baby, as the screaming baby disturbs the upscale paying diners with reservations.

 

"Perhaps Madam would feel more at home at the Mucky D's Burger Pit, about 2 miles down the less fashionable of the roads outside... Good day!"

I was ejected from one of those places while wandering around.  The rest of the region was fine to be in but not the designated reservation restaurant.

Yeah same, all of the resort but the small dining area were fine to walk around in. You're apparently supposed to ring the bell and schedule an RP dining experience as a date or something, don't really see the appeal myself. But it is what it is.

I've yet to need a meal.or a.toilet in SL.  😂

It's the Almighty Immersion again.

If you don't book in advance, they don't have time to arrange for some Para RP types to show up and pretend to be the Maitre'D, and the Waiter, and the Wine Steward, and the Chef, so you won't get the "full immersion Fine Dining Experience".

That would make them more or less very needy dolls I think.  I remember a SL neighbor that had a baby in a crib, that I think I heard cry, I wonder what happens when they are left alone for a long time, if they are like the other pets and get sick.

It's not really that. We just can't have kids in Adult regions anymore. People can take photos and misrepresent them, imply something pedo is going on, and so LL had to crack down. We want SL to continue on, be on the mobile app with more strict requirements to (hopefully) increase the SL population. So care must be taken. Just be careful where you take your baby now.

Just like RL babies, who don't have a soul until a certain age. Heck, I've read that RL babies didn't get names until a certain age, 'cause most didn't survive.
