While browsing my Inventory the other day, I noticed a couple of "Worn" items - part of several Outfits - just sitting under "Objects"!

So far as I know, these really should have been in a folder where I "kept" these items (along with other body parts, etc.).

The "Teeth" and Belleza Jake actual Body (!!!) are shown below.  Just in my Objects (!!).

Should I be concerned that my inventory is getting "out of whack"? I keep my folders pretty shallow.  I've not seen this happen before.

Yes, this happens.  Not sure why yours went where they did.  Objects whose parent link gets lost or otherwise broken will be relinked to a parent folder in your inventory.  Long time ago that location would have been the root of your inventory, but it has been changed.  I thought it was changed to Lost and Found, because that's what was decided on, and I have seen it happen.  But maybe it has been changed again.  Or maybe your choice of viewer makes a difference.  Try this:  Create a prim on the ground or somewhere handy.  Put it on without taking it to inventory first.  Do this few more times without removing, detaching or dropping the prims, then look for them in inventory.  Where are they?  Looks like about half of mine ended up in Lost and Found and the rest ended up the system folder Objects.  It's quite possible that some of them won't appear until after you "re-log."

I totally believe it could be due to "lost links".

I'll try what you suggested if it persists of gets worse.

In the meantime, since my outfits are linked TO these objects..should it be save for me to "move them where they belong" in Inventory?

Or, remove any outfit that uses them first, THEN move them?

What's the best course for THESE objects?

Thanks!

I detach them then move them to where I want them.  Somewhere I had a JIRA about this.  Someone was looking into it.  I just gave up when all that got shoveled.

Ironically, I happened to notice when I was switching between viewers, which is RARE for me. Almost definitely a coincidence that I happened to notice then.

Noticed this with one item recently as well, Lelutka Glitter.

Now I'm usually pretty good about unpacking things and putting in the appropriate folder so this confused me but I figured ehh maybe I just messed up somehow. I now think I didn't and somehow this item ended up in Objects.

In my case, one of the items was my BODY.  Obviously, I never moved that to Objects!!

@Ardy Lay, I took your advice and was careful to note that I cut/pasted both the teeth and my body, from the "Objects" folder to the folder where they belonged.

If I see this happen again, I'll know for 100% it's "not me"!  Because, I'd have no reason to move specific items FROM their folder!

I'm not going to try the steps you recommended to reproduce it, unless it comes back.

Thanks again,

Love

I have not noticed objects moving between folders, but several times I have had folders move between folders.
