was made to kill the ability to switch local lights on and off? This is going to cause some huge issues for photographers and videographers - obviously in daylight local lights are often not needed but more importantly, alot of builds with local lights is just a light or lights set to full white, full nuke power!. Sometimes of course we can find the light source and derender it though that is not always possible

But the main question why was this ability removed? was there a technical reason? Or was this just a oversight? I noticed BD still has this ability (and still has the ability to turn on attached lights without local lights). I really don't know how to file a 'suggestion' through the proper channels but maybe this can get back to FS for a re-think on this feature

I recall something about the old toggle causing rendering issues so it was dropped, couldn't tell you why there isn't a visible replacement for the system. There is however a debug setting RenderLocalLightCount that, if set to 0, will obviously not render any local lights but you can't limit it to attachments/non-attachments or spotlights.

There's the RenderAttachedLights debug setting which on Firestorm seems to turn off attached lights when FALSE even when RenderLocalLightCount has plenty to spare. The settings are in the Linden viewer too and the -LocalLightCount seems to work the same but I can't detect any response to the -AttachedLights setting in that viewer.
