Hello Peeps,

I have a few ideas for the adult content that I wanted to share and one of which may be beneficial for everyone.  The way the current marketplace upload is, creators can select if a product's rating. However, it's always been left to best judgement. This has allowed the Marketplace for years to be filled with products with incorrect ratings,  etc.

The idea is to apply those settings to products / items in world, similarly to IMVU (I'll be using them as a reference, because there are some things they did right.)  I'm sure this is already in the works, so to expand on that further, I think the Mobile should have it's own Marketplace with items that have been re-rated. Moving forward, all items should be peer-reviewed for human verification on if a creator's items are legitimately rated appropriately, or test content for any hidden triggers or black market items.  Peers who rate items should be incentivized with free linden, with a daily cap so currency isn't inflated.  IMVU used to give promotional credits, however, there is no promotional system implemented on this platform.

Furthermore, the Marketplace for Mobile should not be the same as the desktop application - for a couple good reasons.

  1.  The current marketplace is a wild wild west of uncertainty in terms of what the actual content of the items are and if they are app permissible.
  2.  This would encourage users to use their desktop application, the reason IMVU died was everyone used their phones, stopped logging in, and the game became mobile-focused with little retention rates. I'm sure there were other contributing factors, but the core demographic of the game was lost, and that is not something anyone needs to have effected on SL.

This would offer an opportunity to work on a new, cleaner Marketplace that could be expanded on in web. What I mean by that is, there's a lot of junk the Marketplace, we know that.... It's filled with happy memories, and great treasures, however if Second Life is looking for new players, new players don't care about the knicknacks.  - There's a lot of ideas and things on my mind about this very exciting app but this was just one.

Mobile should be a supplemental, in my opinion... So we can keep everything about our grid protected, and use it mobile as a funnel? That's just again my opinion.

Thanks for reading :-)
