Xiija Posted August 1 Posted August 1 Has anyone played with or modified any of Void's teacup stuff? https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/User:Void_Singer/Teacup their coding is sadly obfuscated almost beyond readability.
PheebyKatz Posted August 2 Posted August 2 (edited) I wouldn't call it obfuscated as such, just very direct and compact, like how you can use regular expressions to reduce several lines down to a single string. It's way more compact than it could have been, considering the simplest webserver I've looked at to date involved multiple directories full of files, and took the patience of a saint to configure. And worked about as well as a rock. As far as difficulty in making it go, I've got decades of experience with web server software of all sorts, run on all sorts of hardware, and it's never been simple, straightforward, or easy learning how to make it go. I think the Teacup server thingy is pretty cool, but I would probably never learn how to use it, because it would be easier for me to simply stick a php script on a free server somewhere and use it as a webpage on a prim. If you can make it all go, and get it to do stuff, I would love to see what you do with it, because it's really neato and I think the idea is great. I just don't know how useful or practical it is, since I've not taken the time to get into it and find out. Edited August 2 by PheebyKatz
