Hello. Could anyone recommend any lamps or wall lighting that actually give off a decent, bright light? My house tends to get rather dark at night. I've paid for many expensive lamps/sconces and none of them ever give off a bright light. It barely makes a difference if it's switched on or off which is frustrating. Any recommendations?

Generally speaking, you probably won't find a good combination of the right piece of furniture + the right lighting that you're hoping for.  This also differs based on what lighting you're using as well.   My recommendation would be to simply rez a prim where you want light, make it transparent, toggle the light functionality, and toy with the light settings for that prim.   If the piece of furniture is copy/mod, you may even be able to enable light with that item and do the same without costing yourself additional prims.

As B4rry said, that is the easiest way to do it. There is light source and then there is projector light, which behaves differently. Combining both together might be the best solution. Me, I never had any issues with indoor lights being too dark. Most have been overbright. I found solutions to this by making my own light emitting boxes and projectors. I was going to make a video about it but found someone who did a very good job explaining the basics of it. I'd suggest viewing his video. It is very informative. :)
