Who needs a mobile viewer?

I've given the mobile viewer a try, and while it's a promising idea, it's still lacking in features and puts a heavy load on my three-year-old phone, which I’ll soon be replacing. One major drawback of the mobile viewer is the inability to stay logged into SL on both a laptop and a mobile device simultaneously, which makes it more difficult to reply to IMs etc while afk, not to mention a little painful having to logout of one device to switch to the other.

However, there's a solution that might make a dedicated mobile viewer unnecessary: Chrome Remote Desktop. This free app from Google lets you control your PC directly from your phone, with all graphics and sounds synced to your mobile device.

Since your computer handles all the graphics rendering, it won't drain your mobile battery like the mobile viewer does. Plus, it’s completely free. You might need to adjust the UI and camera settings for a better experience on a smaller screen, but it’s a small price to pay for full access to SL on the go.

Remote desktop apps have of course been around a while but this one from Google is free & refined. Can't complain really!

not everybody is going to want to do it the hardway.  this would be the hard way for many users, not everybody uses chrome,  I do not and I have no plans on doing so.
